About this project
Modern white & navy open-concept kitchen remodel
Project Overview: Modern White & Navy Kitchen Transformation
This major kitchen remodel in the Portland Metro area replaced an outdated 1980s oak kitchen featuring tiled countertops, oak soffits, and worn linoleum flooring with an expansive, bright, modern open-concept space designed for family living and culinary entertaining.
The complete transformation brought floor-to-ceiling white cabinetry, an expansive contrasting navy island, high-end built-in appliances, and warm natural hardwood flooring throughout.
Scope of Work & Real Craftsmanship Details
- Full Kitchen Gut & Layout Redesign: Removed dated oak cabinets, tile-topped island, and soffits. Replaced the old vinyl floor with rich, warm-toned continuous hardwood planks.
- Floor-to-Ceiling White Shaker Cabinets: Installed crisp white Shaker-style wall and base cabinetry reaching the ceiling, maximizing vertical storage and accented with contemporary warm gold/brass hardware pulls.
- Contrasting Navy Island With Quartz Countertop: Built a large central kitchen island with deep navy blue base cabinetry, topped with a seamless white quartz countertop featuring delicate grey marble veining.
- Flush Electric Cooktop & Workstation Prep: Integrated a smooth black glass electric cooktop flush with the island surface, allowing open conversation with guests while cooking.
- Double Wall Oven & Appliance Integration: Framed a dedicated tall cabinet wall housing a stainless steel double wall oven and matching built-in microwave, alongside a modern French-door refrigerator surround.
- Deep Undermount Sink & Faucet: Fitted a deep stainless steel undermount sink beneath the window with a commercial-style gooseneck pull-down sprayer faucet in brushed finish.
